Kathmandu,Nepal: After a hiatus of over two-and-a-half years, Thai Airways, Thailand's premier flag carrier, has resumed its services to Nepal. The airline recommenced its route from Bangkok to Kathmandu, which had been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thai Airways had initially paused its Nepal operations in March 2022 as the pandemic disrupted global travel. However, flights were officially resumed on October 29, 2023, with Society International Travel Services appointed as the General Sales Agent (GSA) for Nepal.
Currently, Thai Airways operates Airbus A320 narrow-body aircraft on its Nepal route. Responding to strong demand, the airline introduced a second daily flight starting December 15, 2023, indicating plans for further expansion.
Since its inception in Nepal, Thai Airways has played a significant role in promoting cultural exchange and economic growth. The airline's diverse fleet includes Airbus A320s, Boeing 777s, Dreamliner 787s, and Airbus A350s, serving over 60 destinations worldwide with a fleet of 73 aircraft.
