The Comac C919 narrowbody aircraft is poised to make its first international appearance at the upcoming Singapore air show, highlighting a potential strong Chinese presence at the event.

Organizers of the show, Experia, have confirmed that the C919 will participate in the flying display, marking its debut on the global stage. While previously showcased at the Airshow China event in Zhuhai in November 2022, this marks the first international outing for the C919.

Since its entry into service with China Eastern Airlines in May 2023, the C919 has seen limited deliveries, with only a few aircraft added to the fleet according to Cirium fleets data. However, Chinese airlines and lessors have firm orders for a substantial number of C919s, reflecting confidence in the aircraft's capabilities.

Equipped with Western systems and powered by CFM International Leap-1C turbofans, the C919 represents China's ambitions in the commercial aviation sector.

Industry speculation suggests a notable presence of Chinese aircraft at the Singapore air show, with potential appearances by the ARJ21 regional jet and various Chinese military aircraft alongside the C919.

In addition to commercial aircraft, the flying display will feature the Airbus A350-1000, while military display teams from several countries, including India, Indonesia, Australia, South Korea, and Singapore, are also set to participate, adding to the diverse showcase of aviation prowess at the event.
