Kathmandu, Nepal: A Buddha Air flight bound for Bhadrapur was forced to make an emergency landing at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) today after experiencing technical issues in its right engine, disrupting air traffic at Nepal's busiest airport.

The aircraft, with call sign 9N-AJS (Flight 953), made a successful emergency landing at 11:15 AM, less than an hour after takeoff. The pilot decided to return to Kathmandu when technical issues were detected mid-flight.

The incident triggered emergency protocols at TIA, causing significant disruption to other flights. Multiple aircraft were forced to circle in holding patterns while the emergency landing procedure was underway. Airport authorities had declared an emergency status at the facility during the landing operation.

"The technical team is currently inspecting the aircraft," a Buddha Air spokesperson said. The airline is making arrangements to transport the affected passengers to Bhadrapur on an alternative flight.

The emergency return of the Bhadrapur-bound flight particularly highlights the critical importance of aviation safety protocols, as the incident occurred during peak hours at TIA, affecting multiple domestic flight schedules.
