Kathmandu,Nepal: Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Pandey has announced that the ministry has launched initiatives to address the long-standing issues facing Nepal Airlines. Making this announcement during a press conference highlighting the government's first 100 days achievements, Minister Pandey revealed that serious discussions are underway to determine an appropriate management model for improving the national carrier.

"The ministry has started an initiative to solve the long-term problems of Nepal Airlines," Minister Pandey stated. As part of this effort, the government has formed a committee headed by a former Supreme Court justice. This committee will conduct a comprehensive study and analysis of Nepal's civil aviation sector, with a particular focus on making the airline safe, reliable, and trustworthy.

The formation of this high-level committee comes as a response to concerns raised by various investigation reports of past aviation incidents. The committee will not only examine these past reports but also analyze the broader challenges facing Nepal Airlines, aiming to propose sustainable solutions for the national carrier's improvement.

This development is part of the government's broader aviation sector reforms, which include the ongoing process to separate the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal into regulatory and service provider bodies. The initiative demonstrates the government's commitment to addressing the fundamental issues affecting Nepal Airlines' operations and its future sustainability.
