Piedmont Airlines was a proud sponsor of the Women in Aviation International (WAI) 35th annual conference, which attracted over 5,200 attendees, featured more than 200 exhibitors, and awarded 131 scholarships to aspiring female aviators.The conference provided a platform for female pilots, aircraft maintenance technicians, flight attendants, ground handling agents, leaders, supporters, and students to connect and learn from each other.
Education sessions and workshops covered a range of topics, from career development and mentoring to mental and financial health.Piedmont Airlines also sponsored WAI’s International Reception, where women from international WAI chapters gathered to celebrate their achievements and share their journeys, goals, and visions for the future of the aviation industry.
In addition, Piedmont sponsored two conference scholarships, supporting an aspiring pilot and an aviation maintenance technician in their career journey. The conference culminated in Girls in Aviation Day, where aspiring young female aviators explored the exhibit hall, gathering inspiration and resources for their future careers.Piedmont's support for WAI aligns with its commitment to community and belonging, fostering inclusivity and diversity within the aviation industry.
