A Kailash Helicopter Service aircraft has been immobile at Sangboche in the Solukhumbu district for a period of two weeks. Umesh Kumar Panthi, the head of the Lukla office at the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority, reported that the Nine N-AMT helicopter of Kailash, originally on a high-altitude flight, is now grounded at Sangboche airport.
The company explained that the helicopter had to be halted due to an engine failure, with the unavailability of spare parts being a contributing factor. Presently, the Everest region is experiencing a lull in tourist activity, resulting in a relatively quieter period. Currently, only helicopters are operational at Sangboche Airport, which primarily serves the transportation of essential goods to the Namche market.
